Twelfth Night

Thur 14 Feb 2019

Was late for the Twelfth Night performance at PJ Live Arts. Was completing my work before leaving the office and that meant I drove off at 7.50 PM for the 8 PM show…

The performance was absolutely hilarious at times especially the slow mo fighting scene between Sir Andrew and Sebastian. There were also 2 on the mouth kissing scenes between Olivia and Cesario, Olivia and Sebastian. And Antonio seems to have a crush on Sebastian. So there is a lot of love in the air, in addition to Duke Orsino’s love for Olivia, which is the main story line.

An Indian guy who was selected to be in the show had a hilarious scene too. All 3 characters stared at him at one point, waiting for him to say the next line, and of course, he didn’t know what the line was. He was saved by one of the actors who switched role with him.

There was also a scene where Sebastian walked over to an elderly gentleman in the audience and said, “I wanted to see the relic in this town” and looked at him significantly.

All in all, an enjoyable show. Would have been better if I had manage to complete reading the book before going for the show. But then again, starting to read it on Wednesday night meant that it was almost impossible to complete this task before the play... Like leaving the office at 7.50 PM to catch the 8 PM show...
